A Hawkguy for you, Internets.

if you aren’t reading Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye series, you are missing out, boy oh boy. It’s essentially Clint Barton’s life outside being an Avenger and it’s hilarious. He has gotten some amazing artists working on the book, the main artist being David Aja who has to be one of the best illustrators working today.

I’d love to see more books about superheroes and costumed adventurers that have no real superheroics or any adventuring.

My First 5* Review For Godhead:

And second review overall…which is good. *saves for later*

Enjoyed it a lot, much darker than I imagined. Shades of Dan Simmons’ “Ilium”, without his questionable genre-straddling spaceships-from-Saturn & Shakespearian references. Also snatches of Neil Gaiman’s “American Gods” in dealing with the whole panoply of gods & titans, but maintains its own identity.

Olympus has fallen and new gods must rise in my debut novel, a contemporary fantasy that brings the stories of the Greek gods roaring into the present day. So far, the book’s gotten some amazing reviews, likening it to Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series or Neil Gaiman’s American Gods…which is all kinds of exciting and cool and humbling and awesome. But those reviews were of the early drafts: this is a whole new beast.

My own description: well, think of it as The Iliadre-written for a post-Buffyaudience…in the best possible ways…

It’s sexy, it’s funny, it’s dark, it’s scary…they’re all my own words, but you should know that I have impeccably high standards; but what I’m really looking forward to is seeing if the rest of you think that too.
